AMU Alumni Qatar to celebrate Sir Syed Day 2024 on Friday

DOHA: The AMU Alumni Qatar will celebrate its annual Founder’s Day (Sir Syed Day 2024) on Friday at the Giwana Ballroom at Radisson Blu Doha.

The Chief Guest for the event is Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi, Vice-Chancellor of Era Medical University, Lucknow. Prof. Abbas is the son of Padmashree winner late Prof. Mahdi Hasan, the organisers said.

Special invitee for the evening is Atif Hanif, who is an expert on Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and has done a lot of work to further his mission and vision. He will be launching a book “Discovering AMU”.

The event consists of speeches, keynote speech on Relevance of Sir Syed in the 21st Century, poetry, quiz, and a skit by kids on the importance of education. The event will also feature the University Tarana and the national anthems of Qatar and India.

The invitees are leading businessmen of Doha, ambassadors and leading professionals who consider Qatar as their second home.
