IPFQ, Outreach Qatar organize World Physiotherapy Day event

DOHA: Indian Physiotherapy Forum Qatar (IPFQ) and Outreach Qatar joined hands to organize an awareness program for parents of children with special needs to commemorate “World Physiotherapy Day – 2024” on Sunday at the Skills Development Center in Doha.

The two-hour interactive sessions were conducted by Dr Nargis Prashanth Das, Dr Binoy Das Nalumakkal, and Dr Biju Nirmal Jacob, three eminent pediatric physiotherapists.

The activity focused on enriching participants’ knowledge in the role of exercises as a lifelong activity for healthy living and preventing low back pain. Parents shared their experiences, discussed their concerns and participated by asking questions. The event concluded with a relaxation breathing exercise led by physiotherapist Dr. Sejal Nariani.

On September 8 every year, physiotherapists around the world celebrate World Physiotherapy Day and the overarching theme for 2024 was “Low Back Pain and the role of physiotherapy in its management”.
The event was inaugurated by Avinash Gaikwad, president of Outreach Qatar. Dr. Sheena Maria John elocuted the theme of the day and introduced the team of resource persons and volunteers.
