Drug awareness exhibition held at Landmark Mall

The General Department of Drug Control organized an exhibition at the Landmark Mall under the slogan “Together towards a Safe Future” with the aim of raising awareness of the dangers of drugs and ways to prevent them, and enhance security and preventive awareness to maintain a safe, stable and drug-free society.

The exhibition comes in implementation of the national plan to combat drugs and psychotropic substances and efforts to immunize all segments of society against this scourge.

First Lieutenant Abdullah Qassim, Head of the Education and Awareness Section at the Department, explained that these mobile awareness exhibitions are an ideal model for cooperation between government and private entities and civil society in combating drugs, and that joint efforts can achieve a positive and sustainable impact in combating this scourge.

He pointed out that coordination is underway to expand the scope of the awareness programmes to include new areas with the aim of reaching the largest possible number of individuals, and plans are being made to organize similar exhibitions in schools and universities to enhance awareness among young people and adolescents.
