23 Indian colleges in Education Ministry’s list for self-funded study of Qatari students

Most of the colleges are from Indian Institute of Technology; three colleges selected for medicine

Twenty-three colleges from India have been included in the new list of universities approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) in Qatar for self-funded study of Qatari students.
Qatari students planning to study abroad with their own funds are required to choose from the list of universities approved by the Ministry.

The number of universities certified for self-funded study reached 763 this year, including 16 universities in Arab countries.

The 23 colleges from India appearing in the list are from various streams including engineering and technology, science, medicine, humanities and law. Most of the colleges are from Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The colleges in the list are IITs from Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Roorkee, Guwahati, Indore, Varanasi, and Indian Institute of Science, Anna University, Chandigarh University, All India Institute of Medical Sciences – New Delhi, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, University of Delhi, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) – Ahmedabad & Calcutta branches, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Symbiosis International, and Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences.

The 16 universities from the Arab region appearing in the list are from Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Kuwait, Tunisia, and Iraq.

The United States holds the majority of approved universities in the engineering and technology field, with 65 institutions. India leads among Asian countries with 13 colleges in this field, followed by Malaysia and Taiwan with 7 colleges each, Pakistan with 5, Kazakhstan with 3, and Singapore, Thailand, Lebanon, and Jordan with 2 each. Kuwait and Oman each have one accredited university in this field. The total number of Asian colleges or universities accredited by the Ministry under Engineering and Technology is 45.

In the life sciences and medicine track, the US once again dominates with 100 universities. The list also includes 3 colleges from India, 7 universities from Taiwan, 4 from Malaysia, 4 from Hong Kong, 3 from Thailand, 2 from Singapore, 2 from Indonesia, and one each from Pakistan, Iran, and Lebanon. The total number of Asian colleges under life sciences and medicine is 28.

The MoEHE’s announcement highlights its dedication to broadening educational opportunities for students, ensuring access to globally recognized institutions for self-funded study.
