The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has warned the public against smoking at metro stations and other public transportation systems.

The MoI emphasized the importance of adhering to Article 17 of Law No. 10 of 2016 on tobacco control, which strictly prohibits smoking in enclosed spaces, including metro vehicles and stations.

Individuals found smoking in public transportation could face penalties ranging from QR1,000 to QR3,000.

Qatar has implemented stringent rules and regulations to control tobacco use and protect public health. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all enclosed public spaces, workplaces, and public transportation. This includes shopping malls, restaurants, and government buildings.

Public transportation users are urged to cooperate with these regulations and report any violations to the relevant authorities.

The Ministry shared the message in a recent video on its social media accounts.
