Bemisal: Event to celebrate Hariharan’s 50 years in ghazal to be held in Doha

DOHA: Bemisal, a celebratory programme to honour Padma Shri Hariharan, who completes 50 years in Ghazal music, is to be held in Qatar.

This event, which would be a one-of-a-kind experience in the music scene, will take place on Friday, October 11 at 6 pm at the Mayasa Theater in the Qatar National Convention Center. Hariharan’s musical milestone, ‘Bemisal’ is brought to Qatar by Doha Darbar, an association known for organizing several shows in the musical genres of ghazal and melody.

The announcement ceremony of the event was held at Qabila West Bay Hotel, and was attended by many dignitaries in the corporate and cultural fields in Qatar, including ICBF President Shahnawaz Bawa and Shahnawaz Sheraton. KMCC President Dr. Abdul Samad, IBPC ex-President Aseem Abbas, ICC Ex-President Milan Arun, Aji Kuriakose, Ravi Shankar, Santhosh, Gopal Subramaniam, Mohammad Ismail, Jiffin Jaffer and Kiran. The first poster of the programme was released at the function.

The welcome note was given by Doha Darbar Chairman. Shafi Parakkal, Chief of Raheep Media, the event management partner, also addressed the audience. Usha Ravi Shankar, Ahmad Asif, Femina, Tholkkappan, Noufal and Kavitha spoke on the occasion. Shalzar moderated the program. There was a Ghazal performance by Sakir Sariga and Al Sabit. Musicians Abdul Khader, Rosh Milan, Binu Swasti, Srikanth and Samish complemented the music with instrumentals.
