MES Indian School, the first Indian school in the country and one of the oldest expat schools, is marking its golden jubilee this year. The school was established in 1974.
Addressing a press conference, school officials said the Golden Jubilee will be marked with several, year-long events.

They also highlighted the school’s journey over the past 50 years, including its significant milestones and achievements in its evolution into a leading educational institution in Qatar.
The new logo marking the 50th year was launched by MES School President B M Sidhique, Senior Vice-President Dr Najeeb, General Secretary Hazmal Ismail and Treasurer Usman AT, as well as several other members of the board of directors along with Principal Dr Hameeda Kader.
Principal Dr Hameeda Kader said the 50th year is going to be a year of celebrations as the school has planned various events with the Annual Day to be the biggest event among all.
“The Golden Waves: MES Radio was launched in April 2024. Among the activities lined up to celebrate the Golden Jubilee include Epic Canvas – a Mega Painting competition, the Musical Reality Show, Elocution competitions in Arabic and Urdu, Ted X, and Golden Jubilee Marathon International” Dr Hameeda Kader said.
MES has carved a name for itself in the academic, cultural, literary, sports, and games domain among the CBSE-affiliated schools not only in the Gulf but also at the national level, the management representatives said.
The school became an ISO- certified school in 2006 and received the QNSA certification in 2016.
Over the past five decades, MES has consistently focused on providing high-quality education, which is reflected in various accomplishments.
The school has won several awards, and recently, it won the Prestigious Educational Excellence Award 2024 from Asianet News under the banner ‘Qatar Business Excellence Awards’ for its 50 years of commitment to excellence, innovation, and exemplary achievements in the field of education.
