Joint campaign held against illegal street vendors

The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Municipality of Al-Rayyan, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, carried out a joint campaign targeting street vendors, out of concern for the safety of citizens and residents

The campaign was carried out in accordance with Law No. (5) of 2015 regulating commercial, industrial, and public shops and street vendors.

As a result of the inspection, violations were registered against street vendors for practicing the trade without a commercial licence. Several vehicles loaded with vegetables were found, and the vegetables were seized and destroyed.

The violators were referred to the authorities for the necessary legal action. The Ministry stressed that it would not tolerate any negligence in terms of adhering to regulations stipulated in law No. (5) of 2015.
The authorities shared on social media a video of the campaign in which a number of vans could be seen, with the vegetables inside removed for destruction.
