The Ministry of Interior of Qatar has unveiled a new format for Disability Parking Permits aimed at regulating the utilization of disabled parking spaces across the state.

The new permits, designed with cutting-edge technical specifications and in accordance with approved standards, are set to enhance accessibility and ensure fairness in parking allocation.

Under the revised guidelines, the Ministry emphasized specific conditions for the usage of Disability Parking Permits. Parking in designated disabled spaces is strictly prohibited if the disabled individual is not inside the vehicle. Additionally, the permit must be prominently displayed behind the front windshield.

Vehicles found parked in disabled spaces without the presence of the permit holder will face penalties, including permit withdrawal and violation issuance by the General Directorate of Traffic.

In the event of a lost permit, individuals are required to notify the issuing authority within 48 hours. When found, permits should be handed over to the nearest police station or Traffic Directorate branch.

A permit found without the stamp of the issuing authority is deemed invalid. Unauthorized usage of permit leads to permit suspension and violation penalties.

The Ministry emphasized the prohibition of displaying or using the permit when the disabled person is not present in the vehicle.
