A Qatari citizen has filed a complaint against a Qatar Airways flight attendant after he and his family were refused permission to board the plane, Al Sharq has reported.

The citizen said that he and his family were exposed to an embarrassing situation while trying to board the plane, as one of his family members suffered a health problem on the bus heading to the plane.

After conducting the necessary medical examinations, upon returning to board the plane, the flight attendant categorically refused them permission to board the plane, the report adds.

In the complaint, the citizen said that after completing all the travel procedures before the specified time, his family experienced a delay due to one of the family members suffering from a health condition due to stress and heat inside the bus. Despite the ambulance’s assistance and the injured person’s condition stabilizing, the flight attendant still refused them permission to travel.

He also expressed his disappointment at the lack of cooperation from Qatar Airways employees, saying: “It was possible for us to travel on the flight as planned, but for the unjustified interference from the employees, especially with the stability of the traveler’s condition (my daughter) and the medical examinations which confirmed her safety.”

The citizen also said Qatar Airways refused to refund the full value of his tickets, which prompted him to approach the company’s office, noting that they did not receive any apology for the incident and nor did the company take any action to restore his rights.

The citizen also spoke about the stress and financial losses they suffered as a result of the negative experience, demanding that the incident be investigated and that he be compensated for the losses due to the travel cancellation.

“It is necessary to take the necessary measures to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future,” he said.
