The Ministry of Transport (MoT) announced the expansion of the Lusail Tram service starting Monday, April 8. The move aims to enhance public transportation connectivity within Doha and its surrounding areas, aligning with MoT’s vision of an integrated, sustainable, and eco-friendly transit system.

The expansion encompasses the operation of both the Pink Line service and several new Orange Line stations. Notably, ten additional Orange Line stations are set to commence operations, including Naifa, Fox Hills South, Downtown Lusail, Al Khayl Street, Fox Hills – North, Crescent Park – North, Rawdat Lusail, Erkiyah, Lusail Stadium, and Al Yasmeen.

In this phase, all Pink Line stations from Legtaifiya to Seef Lusail – North will be operational, with the exception of Al Sa’ad Plaza, which will open later. With ten Pink Line stations in operation alongside the new Orange Line stations, the total number of operational stations in the Lusail Tram system will reach 21.

Operating seven days a week, the Lusail Tram service will adhere to the same schedule as the Doha Metro. Service hours will run from 5:30 am to 12 midnight from Saturday to Wednesday, extending to 1 am on Thursdays, and from 2 pm to 1 am on Fridays.

This expansion facilitates direct access to various areas and landmarks within Lusail, including Al Seef, Crescent Park, Lusail Boulevard, and Al Maha Island. Additionally, commuters can seamlessly connect to the broader Metro network via Legtaifiya Station.
