Doha: Nadumuttam Qatar, a women’s organization based in Qatar, received the News Trail Trailblazer Award 2024 for the best women’s organization in Qatar at the INSPIRE 2024, an event held to celebrate the International Women’s Day at the Sheraton Grand Doha on Friday by News Trail.

The Trailblazer Award is given to one organization in recognition of their exemplary services and contributions in the socio-cultural spheres and for the empowerment of women.

A total of six organizations were shortlisted for the award and the remaining five were given appreciation awards for their substantial contributions.

The organisations which received the appreciation awards are ANANNA – Association of Bangladeshi Women in Qatar; Nepalese Women Society Qatar; Kerala Women Initiative Qatar (KWIQ); INCAS Ladies Wing Qatar, and Sri Lankan Women’s Association of Qatar.

Nada Zeidan, an Arab sporting icon and the region’s first female rally driver, who was the chief guest at the function, gave away the awards to the winners.

“Nadumuttam Qatar is deeply honoured and privileged to be awarded the Trailblazer Award for the top women’s organization in Qatar. By presenting these awards, News Trail is fostering greater dedication among women’s organizations in Qatar, thereby enhancing their societal impact, Sana Naseem, President, Nadumuttam Qatar, said.

“We put our minds and hearts into the whole process and we picked out a wonderful organization which is doing some great work. What I see in a women’s organization in Qatar going forward is that more of social work than cultural activities as social work is needed and it should be inclusive and diverse and not focused on one community alone,” said Sonali Raman.

“It was a privilege to serve on the jury panel for this award because I learned about these incredible organizations, and what women accomplish for the community and the country through these organizations is breathtaking,” said Shirly Rappai.

“The shared sentiment amongst us was the delight to find such a variety of organizations from various countries making it to the top rung for their activities and social commitments, some of the activities being inclusive to encompass all needy individuals here in the country,” Sindhu Nair said.
