Qatar holds panel discussion on GCC development, integration

Doha: The State of Qatar represented by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the GCC Economic and Development Affairs Authority, hosted the 7th panel discussion on envisioning future prospects for integration in the economic and developmental fields among the GCC countries. The event took place at the Qatar Expo 2023 for Horticulture.

Heading the Qatari delegation was Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance Dr. Saud bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, alongside representatives from various government entities, private sectors, and members of the GCC countries.

The roundtable discussion covered several important topics, including enhancing local content in water, food, and environmental security projects in the Gulf region, investing in innovative technology in both agricultural and environmental sectors, expanding natural reserves to improve sustainability and growth, and supporting and empowering the private sector to enhance and diversify the economy.

All parties exchanged viewpoints and ideas during the session regarding the discussed topics, emphasizing the importance of future cooperation to achieve the outlined objectives. They expressed their determination to continue economic and agricultural development and diversification efforts.
