Indian minister Vaishnaw to visit Doha to attend Web Summit Qatar 2024

Doha: India’s Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw will visit Qatar on 26-27 February on the invitation of Qatar’s Minister for Communication and Information Technology, H E Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mannai for participation in Web Summit Qatar 2024, the Indian embassy said in a press release.

On 27th February, the Minister will meet Al Mannai and hold talks on ways to strengthen India-Qatar partnership in areas like digitalization, start-ups and innovation.

Vaishnaw is also expected to meet other Qatari dignitaries and attend a luncheon meeting being organized by the Indian Business and Professionals Council, Qatar.

Minister Vaishnaw will participate in a panel discussion at the Web Summit in the afternoon. Many Indian CEOs, start-ups, and venture capitalists are also participating in Web Summit Qatar 2024.

This is the first visit of Minister Vaishnaw to Qatar and follows the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Qatar on 14-15 February. The visit is poised to contribute to the expansion of India-Qatar partnership in emerging technology areas, including artificial intelligence, 5G and start-ups, the embassy said.
