Minister of Municipality opens AgriteQ 2024 at Expo Doha 2023 

259 exhibitors, including 106 local farms, participate in AgriteQ 2024 

Doha: Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Municipality HE Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Attiyah opened the activities of the eleventh edition of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2024) on Wednesday. 

The Cultural Zone at the Expo 2023 Doha will see participation of 259 local and international exhibitors, including 106 local farms, 30 honey exhibitors and 40 date producers.  

The event will run until February 27, 2024 and aims to support local farmers and agricultural products. 

Minister of Municipality affirmed that the 11th edition of the exhibition witnesses an unprecedented participation with more than 80 countries this year, stressing the significance of the issue of food security and climate change facing world countries.

Talking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the minister said the AgriteQ underscores the significance of food security and raises awareness among the new generation of the significance of agriculture, in addition to showcasing the agricultural products available in Qatar.

His Excellency added that the hard and diligent work that Qatar has witnessed over the past years was the beginning of increasing reliance on the local crop, livestock, and fish wealth, urging all groups to visit Expo 2023 Doha and take their children to learn about the various agricultural products in the State of Qatar, which indicate sustainability, rationalization, and acquisition of diverse cultures.

The Minister said that the State of Qatar supports all local farms and agricultural places, and pledges to continue cooperation, increase reliance on the local wealth, and pay attention to food security.
